“Killin’ Time” Lyrics

Straight From The Factory

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas

(Chorus)

Straight from the factory
We were made for each other
One of those things that's meant to be
Straight from the factory
Nothin' less than exactly
You're the only lock that's made to fit my key

(Verse 1)
Many parts and many hearts
Been mismatched before
Still, they make delivery
Some folks send 'em back
An' never find what they need
But babe, my satisfaction's guaranteed

(Chorus)
Straight from the factory
We were made for each other
One of those things that's meant to be
Straight from the factory
Nothin' less than exactly
You're the only lock that's made to fit my key

(Repeat Chorus)
Straight from the factory
We were made for each other
One of those things that's meant to be
Straight from the factory
Nothin' less than exactly
You're the only lock that's made to fit my key

(Verse 3)
Sittin' tight an' sittin' proud
Waitin' on a shove
Passers by just keep on passin' by
I'll admit, I did a bit of passin' by myself
'Til I found a perfect fit
An' now I'm tied

(Chorus)
Straight from the factory
We were made for each other
A perfect match as anyone can see
Straight from the factory
Nothin' less than exactly
You're the only lock that's made to fit my key

You're the only lock made to fit my key

A Better Man

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas

(Verse 1)

What do you say when it's over?

I don't know if I should say anything at all

One day we're rollin' in the clover

Next thing, you know, we take the fall

(Verse 2)

Still, I think about the years since I first met you

And the way it might have been without you here

I don't know if words from me can still upset you

But I've just gotta make this memory stand clear

(Chorus)

I know I'm leavin' here a better man

For knowin' you this way

Things I couldn't do before now I think I can

And I'm leavin' here a better man

(Verse 3)

I guess, I always knew I couldn't hold you

But I'd never be the one to set you free

Just like some old nursery rhyme your Mama told you

You still believe in some old, 'Meant to be'

(Chorus)

Still, I'm leavin' here a better man

For knowin' you this way

Things I couldn't do before now I think I can

And I'm leavin' here a better man

(Repeat Chorus)

Yes, I'm leavin' here a better man

For knowin' you this way

Things I couldn't do before now I know I can

And I'm leavin' here a better man

(Ooo ooo ooo)

Yes, I'm leavin' here a better man

Nobody’s Home

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

Move slowly to my dresser drawers

Put my blue jeans on

Find my cowboy boots, my button down

Strap my timepiece on my arm

(Verse 2)

Grab my billfold, my pocket change

Just a mindless old routine

Then it's out the door and down the street

But it's not really me

(Bridge)

I still comb my hair the same

Still like the same cologne

And I still drive that pick-up truck

That the same old bank still owns

(Chorus)

But since you left, everybody says

I'm not the guy they've known

The lights are on

But nobody's home

(Verse 4)

Cup of coffee in the morning

It's just food for the brain

But I've been numb since our last goodbye

I haven't felt a thing

(Verse 5)

But now there's pains in my head

And pains in my chest

And I think I'm losing my hair

I'm a half a man with half a mind

To think you didn't care

(Bridge)

I still comb my hair the same

Still like the same cologne

And I still drive that pick-up truck

That the same old bank still owns

(Chorus)

But since you left, everybody says

I'm not the guy they've known

The lights are on

But nobody's home

(Instrumental)

(Repeat Chorus)

Since you left, everybody says

I'm not the guy they've known

The lights are on

But nobody's home

The lights are on

But nobody's home

Walkin’ Away

Clint Black, Dick Gay, Hayden Nicholas

(Verse 1)

Walkin' away I saw a side of you

That I knew was there all along

And that someday I'd say goodbye to you

'Cause one right can still make two wrong

(Verse 2)

Not for each other, not from the start

The difference was day and night

My finest hour spent here with you in the dark

Was just before I saw the light

(Chorus 1)

It's the people who want love and

The people who need love

Who find love on the way

I'll be lookin' for someone 'til I find the right one

Then I won't be walkin away

(Bridge)

Now that I know what I'm tryin' to find

There's only one place it could be

So I'm lookin' ahead, I've stopped lookin' behind

For someone who's lookin' for me

(Chorus 2)

It's the people who want love and

The people who need love

Who find love on the way

I'll be lookin' for someone 'til I find the right one

Then I won't be walkin away

You’re Gonna Leave Me Again

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas

(Verse 1)

Just like a rerun movie

I see that scene again

That feeling shoots right through me

'Cause this time I know the end

(Bridge)

And I've seen it played so many times

And I've watched it frame by frame

And I don't have to guess who loses

And I know who'll feel the pain

(Chorus)

You're gonna leave me again

Just like you did the time before

This is the start of the end

The end of me when you walk out that door

(Verse 2)

Think I'll go down to the picture show

See if they're playin' somethin' new

Maybe one with a happy ending

And I'll pretend It's me and you

(Verse 3)

But I know that it's just make believe

So I won't even try

To tell myself that you're not gonna leave

That you'll never say goodbye

(Chorus)

You're gonna leave me again

Just like you did the time before

This is the start of the end

The end of me when you walk out that door...

(Instrumental)

I’ll Be Gone

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas

(Verse)

Since before I learned to walk, I've been running

And I could always see the light before the dawn

Somewhere, someone won't even see me coming

And before they see me going, I'll be gone

Now you've got questions I don't care to answer

And I don't get off on leading people on

And It's safe to say I'm no second chancer

And the chances are I don't know right from wrong

(Chorus)

You could never change my mind

And I won't change my ways

And from the start the lines have all been drawn

That I'll just leave you behind

Forgetting all my yesterdays

I said before you see me going

I'll be gone

(Instrumental)

(Chorus)

You could never change my mind

And I won't change my ways

And from the start the lines have all been drawn

That I'll just leave you behind

Forgetting all my yesterdays

I said before you see me going

I'll be gone

Yeah, I said before you see me going

I'll be gone...

Nothing’s News

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

Spent my lifetime wishing waitress would come 'round

Telling jokes, shootin' pool on the other side of town

When the whistle blows at five o'clock

There's only one place I'll be found

Down at Ernie's Ice House lifting long necks

To that good 'ole country sound

(Chorus 1)

And talking 'bout the good 'ole times

Bragging ‘bout how I used to be

But I've worn out the same old lines

And now it seems nothing's news to me

(Bridge)

There's nothing like a steel guitar crying in the night

Nothing like a sawdust floor and a good 'ol friendly fight

I'd finally find my way back home and you'd patch up my face

But that was another time and another place

(Chorus 2)

Now I'm talking 'bout the good 'ole times

Bragging ‘bout how I used to be

But I've worn out the same old lines

And now it seems nothing's news to me

I wonder how I came to be the know it all I am

And how the world ever got used to me

(Chorus 3)

Now I'm talking 'bout the good 'ole times

Bragging ‘bout how I used to be

But I've worn out the same old lines

And now it seems nothing's news to me

Winding Down

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

As past times go I guess I've seen some good

It isn’t always the best ones come and stay

There's a crowd that thinks there is one, and it should

'Cause they always seem to spend theirs the some old way.

(Chorus 1)

And they call it winding down

The six to ten crowd, smoky bars

Notes on napkins and business cards

Describe the days events and go on home.

And it's likely they won't drown

The price goes up and one more round

They close up all the bars downtown

As the singer plays one last rip roaring song.

(Verse 2)

It seems like the same ole motions every night

He wants to hear a golden oldie to take him back

And I'm playing out all the emotions I can't fight

Relieve the tensions and hope they're on the right track.

(Chorus 2)

And they call it winding down

The six to ten crowd, smoky bars

Notes on napkins and business cards

Describe the days events and go on home.

And it's likely they won't drown

The price goes up and one more round

They close up all the bars downtown

As the singer plays one last rip roaring song.

(Verse 3)

Honky tonk heroes turn the page

And the books are closed tonight

'Cause everybody knows you gotta leave 'em up

So they'll go home feeling right.

You gotta leave 'em up

So they'll go home feeling right...

(Instrumental)

Killin’ Time

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas

(Verse 1)

You were the first thing that I thought of

When I thought I drank you off my mind

When I get lost in the liquor

You're the only one I find

And if I did the things I oughta

You still would not be mine

So I'll keep a tight grip on the bottle

Gettin' loose and killin' time

(Chorus)

This killin' time is killin' me

Drinking myself blind thinkin' I won't see

That if I cross that line and they bury me

Well I just might find I'll be killin' time for eternity

(Verse 2)

I don't know nothin' 'bout tomorrow

I've been lost in yesterday

I've spent all my life just dying

For a love that passed away

And if there's an end to all my sorrow

And this is the only price I'll pay

I'll be a happy man when I go

And I can't wait another day

(Chorus 2)

This killin' time is killin' me

Drinking myself blind thinkin' I won't see

That if I cross that line and they bury me

Well I just might find I'll be killin' time for eternity

Yes, I just might find I'll be killin' time for eternity

Live and Learn

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

I've tried livin' it risky

Relied on women and whiskey

To chase my blues, turn my nights to days

First rage only a pastime

With age more than a lifetime

Of day in, day out the world just turns away

(Chorus)

Everybody knows you live and you learn

But the lessons just go on and on

I guess we're gonna have to wait

For all the pages to turn

To find out if it's right or if it's wrong

You live and learn

(Verse 2)

I've stopped lookin' for questions

I've got only suggestions

Black and white can only turn to gray

In time we're all gonna find out

Our times all gonna wind out

And just count down until that judgement day

(Chorus)

Everybody knows you live and you learn

But the lessons just go on and on and on

I guess we're gonna have to wait

For all the pages to turn

To find out if it's right or if it's wrong

You live and learn…

You live and learn...

(Instrumental)

“The Clint Black Christmas Collection” Lyrics

The Finest Gift

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas

(Verse 1)

She can shop all over town

Turn the gift shops upside down

Finding something for her man with everything

But it’s right behind her eyes

And no matter what she buys

She’ll always be the finest gift she brings

(Chorus 1)

Every year it’s never missed

Should be at the top of every list

It can never be outdone

It’s the perfect gift for everyone

(Verse 2)

It’s in everything you’ll see

Scattered underneath our tree

You can hear it in the carols that we sing

It’s the heart of love’s design

And it appreciates with time

And she’ll always be the finest gift she brings

--Instrumental--

(Chorus 2)

Every year it’s never missed

Should be at the top of every list

It can never be outdone

It’s the perfect gift for everyone

(Verse 3)

Now it’s not in any store

She can never give me more

Than her promise of the finest gift she brings

I know her love’s the finest gift she brings

Under The Mistletoe

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

There’s no telling how far a kiss will go

Wish on the highest star that this will go

On right here where we are under the mistletoe on Christmas night

It seems so right

That a lovely holiday dish made a mess of me

If love is this, it’s my favorite recipe

The kind I’d fix to remind the rest of me there’s room to grow under the mistletoe

(Verse 2)

Well I made this mist as a Christmas wannabe

With a Christmas list that insists I’ve gotta be

Hugged and Kissed by this sweet mess in front of me

On Christmas night and every night

Just right here in the doorway where they found us

They’d like to leave but there’s no way around us

I believe there’s a spell that bound us, I’ve gotta know is it only the mistletoe

(Chorus 1)

Gotta know I’m afraid to go

Don’t want out if we’re in the throes

Flames die out in the afterglow

And I’ve gotta know, is it only the mistletoe

Don’t think so

--Instrumental--

(Chorus 2)

Gotta know I’m afraid to go

Don’t want out if we’re in the throes

Flames die out in the afterglow

And I’ve gotta know, is it only the mistletoe

(Bridge)

Don’t think so

I gotta know

Say it ain’t, say it ain’t, say it ain’t

Say it ain’t just this mistletoe

That knows

--Instrumental--

The Kid

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas, Merle Haggard

(Verse 1)

Last night, I dreamed I was a kid again

All the things I use to do, I went and did again

Spent the afternoon with my best and closest friend

Wandering through the days we thought would never end

It was back when I’d still get things from Santa Claus

Back when he believed in me and overlooked the flaws

That can grow inside until it hides

The perfect, little boy inside the man

(Chorus)

I’m not a kid anymore, but I still believe

That those miracles occured

That’s not something up his sleeve

And that the reindeer pulled the sleigh

And the elves still make the toys

Santa gives away to all the girls and boys

(Verse 2)

Tonight, I’ll climb back in that bed again

Try to live out all my dreams inside my head again

After christmas eve, with my best and closest friend

Who still beileves the world’s greatest dad just tucked him in

And I know that he’ll be looking out for Santa Claus

And I’m sure beyond a doubt, he’ll overlook the flaws

That will grow inside until it hides

This perfect little boy inside a man

(Chorus 2)

I’m not a kid anymore and I still believe

That those miracles occured

That’s not something up his sleeve

And that the reindeer pulled the sleigh

And the elves do make the toys

Santa gives away to all the girls and boys

The Coolest Pair

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

If I could take a ride on rudolph

We’d trim the treetops

Knockin’ a boot off

I’d get a rise outta rudolph

Hoofin’ it everywhere

(Verse 2)

If I could make a frosty the snowman

He’d be the jolly

Get up and go-man

I’d make a forty below man

We’d be the coolest pair

(Chorus)

Hey, we’d stick together

All kinds of weather

We’re sure to have a ball

I can’t imagine

All that can happen

If a little bit of snow would fall

(Verse 3)

If I could be the man down the chimney

Bag full of magic

I’ve got it in me

I can get santa to send me

I’ve got the time to spare

--Instrumental--

(Chorus 2)

Hey, we’d stick together

All kinds of weather

We’re sure to have a ball

I can’t imagine

All that can happen

If a little bit of snow would fall

(Bridge)

But the word is around

There’s some other town

That let christmas go to the grinch

Well maybe in Whoville

Not me in you-ville

We’d never give ‘em an inch

(Verse 4)

If I could make a Frosty the Snowman

He’d be the jolly

Still on a roll man

I’d make a forty below man

We’d be the coolest pair

Hoofin’ it everywhere

Hey I’ve got the time to spare

--instrumental--

Looking for Christmas

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

I’m looking for Christmas

I’ve gotta find Christmas

Flying back in my mind

Does anyone know of this Christmas

A long ago Christmas

Sleigh bells ringing, carolers singing

Only bringing the long traveled message of love

(Verse 2)

I’m looking for Christmas

In time for this Christmas

A day far and away

And could a star show me Christmas

The town of old Christmas

Where truth is ringing, a virgin’s

Bringing the newborn king

And the Lord’s own Messiah of love

(Chorus 1)

And I close my eyes

And I’m kneeling there in the stall

And could I be the wise man

Sharing his wisdom

Creating a kingdom for all

--Instrumental--

(Verse 3)

I’m looking for Christmas

I know I’ll find Christmas

Imparted right from the start

And everyone knows of this Christmas

The very first Christmas

Where Christ is guiding, all with tidings

Still his light is residing here in us all

(Chorus 2)

And I close my eyes

And a thousand lifetimes recall

Aren’t we all wise magi

Sharing his wisdom creating a kingdom

As born on this Christmas, and each Christmas day

We are sharing his wisdom creating a kingdom

As born on this Christmas, and each Christmas day

That shall…….. Fall

--Instrumental--

Christmas for Every Boy and Girl

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

The roar of his laughter is widely renowned

The distinct ho-ho-ho as he goes town to town

The number of kids is quite sure to astound

It’s many the chimney that he will shimmy down

He knows who’s been bad and who’s good

And he’d empty that bag out if only he could

(Chorus 1)

When he’s loading his sleigh, and he’s making the rounds

They’ll be many a rooftop that won’t hear the sound

Of the reindeers hooves stomp and St. Nick touching down

When he wraps up a package of peace for the world

There’ll be Christmas for every boy and girl

(Verse 2)

How many Children are watching the sky

For the chance to see rudolph’s red nose glowing by

How many lay listening with sleep in their eyes

Visions of patriots crossing the sky

He knows who’s asleep and awake

That promise won’t keep if it’s for goodness sake

(Chorus 2)

When he’s loading his sleigh, and he’s making the rounds

They’ll be many a rooftop that won’t hear the sound

Of the reindeers hooves stomp and St. Nick touching down

When he wraps up a package of peace for the world

There’ll be Christmas for every boy and girl

(Repeat Chorus 1x)

When he’s loading his sleigh, and he’s making the rounds

They’ll be many a rooftop that won’t hear the sound

Of the reindeers hooves stomp and St. Nick touching down

When he wraps up a package of peace for the world

There’ll be Christmas for every boy and girl around the world

--Instrumental--

Milk and cookies (‘Til Santa’s gone)

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas, Shake Russel

(Verse 1)

Now I’m only five years old

I’ve gotta do just what I’m told

Santa Claus is gonna be dropping in on me

Is there something I might have missed

I had quite a few things on my list

I hope he can fit it all under that Christmas tree

(Chorus)

Now I know what he likes for a late night snake

For years now it's been bringin' him back

milk and cookies

He'll come and go without a sound again

But how in the world does he get in

ain't got a chimney

(Verse 2)

Close my eyes and concentrate, try to

sleep, it's gettin' late

All night long I lie awake til' Santa's gone I just can't wait

But could there be something I might have missed

I had quite a few things on my list

I hope he can fit it all under that

Christmas tree

--Instrumental--

(Chorus)

Sneak a peek down the hall

I've gotta check now I don't recall

the milk and cookies

I think I'm sure I've got it all

The stockings hung along the wall

Ain't got a chimney

Close my eyes and concentrate,

I've gotta sleep now it's gettin' late

All night long I lie awake til' Santa's gone,

I just can't wait, I just can't wait,

I just can't wait

But could there be something I might have missed

I had quite a few things on my list

I hope he can fit it all under that Christmas tree

I hope he can fit it all under my

Christmas tree

(Spoken)

Get that harmonica under there

And we can fit a guitar under there

A cowboy hat, a bicycle maybe and

Don’t know what he’s going to do with

That horse

Slow As Christmas

Clint Black, Hayden Nicholas

(Chorus)

You’re as slow as Christmas

I was up before the dawn

Up so fast I missed it

Or was that old saying wrong

Every Christmas Day makes

Every other day seem long

What seemed would never get here

Has so quickly come and gone

(Verse)

I've heard old sayings, old cliches

And most of them make sense

But we're wiser in our younger days

Not easily convinced

There's no way to look ahead

With the wool over your eyes

And it seems that Santa's sled

Isn't the only thing that flies

(Chorus)

You're as slow as Christmas

I was up before the dawn

Up so fast I missed it

Or was that old saying wrong

Every Christmas Day makes

Every other day seem long

What seemed would never get here

Has so quickly come and gone

-- Instrumental --

(Verse)

We're bringing in another year

Let's throw that old one back

With my new train, I'll be the engineer

And hurry down the track

While I know that time is standing still

I hear that old cliche

And I'm more convinced it does until

That one December day

(Chorus)

When I'm as slow as Christmas

I'll be up before the dawn

I'm not gonna miss this

I know that old saying's wrong

Every Christmas day makes every other day seem long

What seemed would never get here

Has so quickly come and gone

Come and gone…

Christmas With You

Clint Black & Hayden Nicholas

Low in the saddle my mind in a haze

Missing my family and counting the days

This road is a long one and if I’m overdue

I’ll be dreaming of Christmas with you

I know this Christmas

Every wish won’t come true

But I’ll be dreaming of Christmas with you

I’m counting my blessings, treasures untold

Millions of moments more precious than gold

I can ride on those memories and they’ll carry me home

And I won’t spend this Christmas alone

I know this Christmas

Every wish won’t come true

But I’ll be dreaming of Christmas with you

Somehow we can all get together

Where our love is the gift that we’ll find

Celebrating these moments forever

Even if I’m only with you here in my mind

I know this Christmas

Every wish won’t come true

But I’ll be dreaming of Christmas with you

I know this Christmas

Every wish won’t come true

But I’ll be dreaming of Christmas with you

No, I won’t miss this Christmas

And even if I do

I’ll be dreaming of Christmas with you

I’ll be spending this Christmas with you

Santa’s Holiday Song

Clint Black & Hayden Nicholas

We know that Santa’s busy round this time of year

About a billion chimneys just in my home town alone

But when he’s off he points old Rudolf south of here

Where it’s always clear and way too hot to snow

Who’s bad or good

He’ll worry about another day

He’ll see who’s sleeping when he gets back home

His bag is full but not of things to give away

Like a giant beach towel and some copper tone

Trying to pick something to wear that isn’t red

He shaves his beard and Rudolf hides the sleigh

He won’t worry about the letters that he hasn’t read

Now instead he’s sending postcards from his holiday

Who’s been naughty, who’s been nice,

They’ll make the list

He’d be remiss to let this

Christmas thing get out of hand

His helpers help themselves

And Santa won’t be missed

And they’d insist he really should be working on his tan

It won’t be long til’ kids are climbing on his knee

Asking for their robots and their dolls

They’ll try to catch him working round their Christmas tree

To see if he’s the same on taking pictures at the malls

But when it comes to ole’ St. Nick there’s only one

Who’ll get it done he’ll fill the orders laughing all the way

Come Christmas day he’s off to play out in the sun

Like anyone, even Santa needs a holiday

Magical Christmas

Clint Black

All my Christmas ducks are in a row

Cause everybody knows ducks all have to be in rows

And if my ducks are crooked

Well then my goose is cooking

I know this all sounds stupid

But it keeps me on my toes

If I could give him anything

I would give him everything

He’s more than earned his peace on earth if only for awhile

I wouldn’t care how much it cost

I’d cover everything he lost

With a day to make him really smile the way he use to smile

It’s the perfect time

The perfect reason

For this not so perfect season

To do all I can to make this Christmas everything he needs

A strange land made him a stranger

Now that he’s all out of danger

It’s my mission and I see that my plan perfectly succeeds

Through the casual observer

He probably seems like your average Joe

But for those in the know

He’s so much more than average

There few who could even come close

He’s the number one lead in our own little sphere

And to have him right here to be perfectly clear

Mr. perfectly right needs a perfectly bright

Cheery perfectly heavenly Magical Christmas this year

--Instrumental--

To get things just right

The least I can do

To make sure all of his Christmas wishes come true

Mr. perfectly right needs a perfectly bright

Cheery perfectly heavenly Magical Christmas this year

He needs a perfectly heavenly Magical Christmas this year x2

Hustle and Bustle

Clint Black

See everyone hustle for last minute gifts

They’re all in a bustle whatever that is

It probably has something to do with the worry and stress over gifts that we grab in a hurry

Checking my list is what it’s all about

All my decisions are riddled with doubt

I check on the traffic and google the route

And then move with precision before they run out

(Chorus)

I’m in it last minute the crowds and the lines

It always comes down to a matter of time

I’m there until there’s nothing left on the self

They’re counting on me and that jolly old elf

Out looking for bargains

It’s too late for that

I spend what I spend

And I see where I’m at

The store’s better hope all the stuff isn’t gone

Or I’ll have to get tough and just use Amazon

Well the grabbing and nabbing

The pickings are slim

All the pushing and shoving

And nerves wearing thin

My hopes of success are now starting to dim

Can’t imagine the Wise Men did all this for him

(Chorus)

But I’m in it last minute

I just love them all

I know I can find something there for us all

I might even find something there for myself

I can’t leave it all up to that jolly old elf

-- Instrumental--

How much can we own without taking a loan

I’ll be working my fingers right down to the bone

If I order by phone

Delivery by drone

We can have everything and never leave home

(Chorus)

But I’m in it last minute

The crowds and the lines

It always comes down to a matter of time

I’m there until there’s nothing left on the shelf

They’re counting on me and that jolly old elf

(Repeat Chorus x2)

I’m in it last minute

the crowds and the lines

Looking for Christmas and losing my mind

I’m there until there’s nothing left on the self

They’re counting on me and that jolly old elf

I’m in it last minute the crowds and the lines

It always comes down to a matter of time

I’m there until there’s nothing left on the shelf

They’re counting on me and that jolly old elf

I’ll capture the spirit with cunning and stealth

They’re counting on me and that jolly old elf

Light the Fire

Clint Black

(Verse 1)

If you could open your heart

And see what’s inside

You’d find magical place with all kinds of treasure you don’t want to hide

It knows what a gesture can bring

Like the warmth of a fire

And you’ll know what it all means

It just gets brighter and brighter

The light in their eyes

(Chorus 1)

Light the fire

You know the reason is not just the season

There’s something much more

Light the fire

With every heart warming

The mid-winter morning

Together we’ll all light the fire

(Verse 2)

There’s a glow on your face

When the feeling is right

And it keeps glowing and growing

Until it feels like you could light up the night

And when you let it all out

It’ll grow even more

You’ll know what the fire’s all about

Bringing us closer and closer to what we’re here for

(Chorus 2)

Light the fire

You know the reason is not just the season

There’s something much more

Light the fire

With every heart warming

The mid-winter morning

Together we’ll all light the fire

Looking For Christmas (Reprise)

Clint Black

(Verse)

I'm looking for Christmas, i've gotta find

Christmas, flying back in my mind

Does anyone know of this Christmas, a long ago Christmas

Sleigh bells ringing, carolers singing

Only bringing the long traveled message of love

(Verse)

I'm looking for Christmas, in time for this

Christmas, a day far and away

And could a star show me Christmas

The town of old Christmas

Where truth is ringing, a virgin's

Bringing the newborn king and the

Lord's own messiah of love

(Chorus)

And I close my eyes and i'm kneeling there in the stall

And could i be the wine man, sharing his wisdom

Creating a kingdom for all

(Verse)

I'm looking for Christmas, I know i'll find Christmas

Imparted right from the start

And everyone knows of this Christmas

The very first Christmas

Where christ is guiding, all with tidings

Still his light is residing here in us all

(Chorus)

And I close my eyes, and a thousand lifetimes recall

Aren't we all wise magi, sharing his wisdom

Creating a kingdom

As born on this Christmas and each Christmas day

We are sharing his wisdom creating a kingdom

As born on this Christmas and each

Christmas day that shall fall
